    Hello guys and gals!

Getting stuck in to MODx and been following this tuturial here: http://vimeo.com/19495622

Up to the 25minute mark and now I need to add a Wayfinder snippet for the navigation. But for the love of me I can’t get it to download on to my site.

Tried it using a laptop, thought it was a wireless issue. Tried it on my desktop and on a friends and still am unable to get Wayfinder to download. Since I am quite capable with FTP’s I manually downloaded the snippet and uploaded to core/packages and then searched for it locally and it still wont show up.

What am i doing wrong? Would love to have this nailed today as i have booked a week off of work to get MODx well and truly sussed for some future website developments. Really can’t be bothered using Wordpress anymore and the other Content Management Systems.

I saw someone say on another post, any website can be made using this CMS, so im going to give it a try over the next few months.

All looking good so far, other than this little snag with Wayfinder.

Im on Revolution and have all the latest PHP/MySQL versions on my hosting too.

Can you download other packages through the package manager, or does this exist only for Wayfinder?

      What version of Revolution?

Does your setup meet these requirements?
      5.1.1 and above (excluding 5.1.6 and 5.2.0)
      Required extensions:
      zlib
      JSON (or PECL library)
      mod_rewrite (for friendly URLs/.htaccess)
GD lib (required for captcha and file browser)
      PDO, specifically pdo_mysql (for xPDO)
      ImageMagick (for thumbnails)
      SimpleXML
      safe_mode off
      register_globals off
      magic_quotes_gpc off
PHP memory_limit 24MB or more, depending on your server

Are you getting any error on the screen, or in the error log (System -> Error log or core/cache/logs/error.log)?

          Version of Revolution: 2.0.6-pl2

          cURL is enabled

I meet all them system/server requirements

Also there are no errors coming up in the error log for this particular job.

I have tried to make everything within the CMS writeable using FTP and this does not do the job either. I have also tried using other packages and they do the same. I click Download and nothing happens, nothing loads, nothing pops up saying there is a problem.

          Any other suggestions laugh

Try going to the package manager, open up Firebug and check the ajax request being sent to the connector - but more importantly, it’s response. That might give a clue on what’s going on.

The folders that should be writable are assets/components, core/components and core/packages.

The folders you mentioned are writeable and permissions where changed straight away when MODx was installed on to my hosting. Had another web developer look at it all and he said to make them writeable and it did nothing.

Got firebug open but sorry, don’t know how to check whether Ajax is being sent?

On the NET tab you will see requests popping up. There’ll be a bunch of images, shades etc being loaded but important is the request to I think it’s connector.php or packages-rest.php (or something similar to th at).

When you click on those, you can see the POST data, and the response as well.

Hi Mark, thankyou for your response!

I can see packages but not the other one.

Also, the shades that i see, what am i looking for within them?

Still can’t get this to work :/

I successfully deleted and re-installed MODx to get one tiny little step further.

Atleast now i have MODx telling me there is a problem, it relays the message ’Error’.

                    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v130/gen:ex/?action=view&amp;current=modx_packages_err.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/gen:ex/modx_packages_err.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Everything is writeable as when i re-installed it asked if i wish to have this, i have checked FTP to make sure. So why am i unable to add wayfinder?
