Issue with DOCTYPE being added to XML documents

Right so, when ever I try to create a document, no template with ditto, so to pump out an RSS feed, I have a doctype automagicaly added into the document like so:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd">
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><html><body><rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><channel><title>rss</title>

Quite annoying: any tips would be much appreciated, as I can’t seem to get rid of it any way I try.

hi,

quite simple, just go to the rss ressource config tab and choose text/xml as the content type, done!

You’d think so. But no, running EVO 1.0.5 here, Resource type set to text/xml or text/plain then the doctype line is inserted. On all the other pages this isn’t happening, there is no DOCTYPE being inserted.

back... well, what you describe sounds a bit curious, i’ve a website running with evo 1.05 which has an rss page using this as its template

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="[(modx_charset)]" ?>
<rss version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" xml:lang="(yams_tag)">
<channel>
<atom:link href="(yams_doc:[*id*])" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" />
<title>[*pagetitle*]</title>
<link>(yams_site:[*id*])</link>
<description>[*introtext*]</description>
<language>(yams_tag)</language>
<copyright>Copyright CRMA, 2011</copyright>
<docs>http://www.rssboard.org/rss-specification</docs>
<ttl>1440</ttl>
[*content*]
</channel>
</rss>

and a ditto call in each language tab content field (it’s a yams/multilingual website as you may have guessed

), it works perfectly with no extra doctype added
(just change the yams language tags to your language one if monolingual)
