So I moved a site today from a subfolder called ’BETA’ on the server
into the root.It was a bit of a disaster but several hours later I
managed to do some file surgery and I can now both login and see my
    live site. Halleluiah smiley

But I still have a major problem...

    1. When I click on any of my top menu links, they still try to find the
    resource in the ’BETA’ subfolder.

I’ve successfully updated my core/config/config.inc.php file to
remove all instances of ’BETA’ and reuploaded. I logged back in,
flushed the cache and get the same thing.

    2. When I re run setup, everything goes well apart from the
page where is asked you if you’d like to login. IE it brings me
    to mydomain.com/BETA/manager

If I stip out the BETA in the address bar, I can login fine but
get back to problem 1 when viewing the site.

are you using revo? if so have you manually changed the database?

go through this page and make sure you have changed every file:

      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Moving+Your+Site+to+a+New+Server

sadly moving servers with revo is a bit of a nightmare compared to evo.

I had a problem similar to this a while back. Download the core/config/config.inc.php file, open it up in a text editor and manually alter the paths. I’ll bet some of them are referring to the BETA folder.

          Yep I’m using Revo.

I’ve never used PHPAdmin before but I managed to login, saw that the
database ’workspaces’ setting was still referencing the BETA folder.
I successfully updated that and removed the BETA reference but
I am having the same issue. I have cleared the cache several times and
          flushed the sessions etc.

          Same issue huh

This was very confusing but seems to be fixed now.

Evereytime I uploaded the updated config file and ran setup,
            I had the same problem.

And everytime I downloaded the config file, it had the old
BETA reference which I had deleted several times.

I finally discovered that niether FTP application was actually
            uploading the config file.

Sounds stupid now but you live and learn. Hopefully someone else
will come across this problem and find a solution.

Thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated.

              I spoke too soon.

My pubic website is working fine but in the backend, when I click on
a resource to edit, I get a completely white blank page.

Oddly enough, I can right-click a resource and do a ’quick update’ but
dont see anything by simply clicking on the resource.

Any ideas? Major problem if I want to update the site :O/

Is there anything in your htaccess rewriting to the beta?

What precise steps did you take to move the site?

Your config file has the right values now?

Hi. In order of questions answered

                  1. No. I am using friendly URLs but even when i undo that option and remove the HT access file, no resources load in the back end.

                  2. Long clumcy route.

                  - Moved files with Filezilla. Noticed this only moved 50% of the files.
                  - Downloaded all files from live site to local PC and started uploading that way to ensure I had copied all files across
                  - Tried config settings and database settings for hours and finally managed to login and view site too
                  - Latest step was to upload a 2.0.7 from scratch and run setup again.
                  - Current reult is login = ok. Edit resources still leads to blank page on any resource

                  3. yes. checked and double checked.

I have an error log of following...

The problem I have is that my site is now live and although it’s working to browsers, I can’t edit any resources.

Seems like there were issues during the install, and it didn’t properly copy over all the core files (which could very well explain why certain pages don’t work)...

Can you please state the following to see if your server matches the requirements, or perhaps is facing some known config that doesn’t work right?
Server OS, Server Version, PHP Version, MySQL Version (client and server), is pdo_mysql installed, your Browser type and version, if you are using any opcode caching such as eAccelerator, APC, winCache, xCache, etc; any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log, and any other environment data we should know.

                      Hi Mark
                      Thanks for the suggestion.
I will gather all those details together but in short, I know
the server is compatible as I had it installed and running fine
in the sub folder. I also have another site running 2.0.7
on the same host and it works fine too.

I wonder is it a permissions folder problem on the reuploaded directories.
I thought downloading Modx Revo 2.0.7 and uploading to the servers under
a setup>upgrade would do the trick but as you see, it’s not copying some
files. Thats what leads me to the CHMOD conclusion.
