http post requests

Is there a modx method that will handle http post requests? Something that would replace the need for a function like this: http://netevil.org/blog/2006/nov/http-post-from-php-without-curl

I would like to post data to another server from within my snippet.

No, you would have to use CURL or some other HTTP client library to do this in a snippet, unless you are simply talking about having a form with the action targeting another server location and having it handle the subsequent request.
