I’m not able to upload files through the manager > manage files.
- The directory I’m writing to is 777’d
- Under tools > configuration (in the file manager tab) my settings for creating new directory and uploaded files are 0777.
- I didn’t mess with the default resource manager or file manager paths (which have always worked by default for me, and are pointed at the correct directories(full-path-from-server/httpdocs/ and full-path-from-server/httpdocs/assets/)
I’ve even gone as far as reinstalling modx for this site. The confusing thing is that I can create directories but not upload files to that directory.
Just for further clarification I can upload to the images/ directory, but this is a problem I’m having specifically with creating new directories and trying to upload to them.
Here is the message I get when I try to upload to a newly created directory
Failed to copy file to destination directory - upload failed! Possible permission problems - the directory you want to upload to needs to be set to 0777 permissions.
All help is appreciated

Wow. This is the second time I’ve answered my own question shortly after I posted. Hopefully the answer will help someone else:
PHP’s safe mode needs to be set to ’off’. Strange. Can anyone clarify any problems this might cause (and I’m curious as to why safe mode would need to be off for these file uploads, just saying it sounds unsafe : )

It’s not unsafe. PHP will no longer have ’safe_mode’ in PHP6.
Good to know. thanks for the reply
