Skip the 'page data', directly edit page

My choice would be to have single-click do nothing (to simplify dragging and dropping). Double-Click would be Edit and View would move to the right-click menu.

In any event, I definitely agree that View should move to the right-click menu and either single or double clicking should launch edit. (If you dig back through the Jira archives, I suggested being able to launch edit by clicking in Feb. of ’08 ).

Even after all this time, I still am annoyed fairly often by accidentally ending up at the View panel, which I almost never want.

I wonder if double-clicking in a web app is going to confuse people since that’s not all that common to date.

me too. The info page has never been useful to me.

What about putting a checkbox above the root tree (in toolbar). When it’s checked then clicking any page link will edit it, otherwise will show info page. The check box should live during the manager session active. So refreshing the main page wont change the check box value.

Or next to page menu, we can put edit icon that will behave the same. For example Home [^]. When clicking the caret it will show edit page, else Info page

I think this would just complicate the UI. People can right click and view page data. Editing is the most common action. Viewing page data is much less common.

Right click/context menu lets you view or edit data as it stands now. This is just a default behavior switch which was committed for Evo today.

One thing to consider though is clicking a document and closing the browser window without closing the document (using the close button in the UI). I suspect there will be many more inadvertently locked Resources.

It would be nice to have an event to customize the doc tree contextual menu so we could add links to custom functions/modules.
