    Hey there!

I’m trying to use MODx Revolution for a website for the first time and I want the client to be able to easily upload images from his harddrive for a resource (product). Is this possible? If I use template variable -> image you get to see the MODx browser with all the folders (assets/components etc..) and this isn’t very convenient in terms of usability. The client, being a n00b, would mess it up.

I want him to select a file from his computer, click upload, then if possible let him crop it with jCrop (jquery) in the correct ratio, automatically resize it to the correct size (large + thumb) and save it in the correct folder.

I know how to create this with a php form and gd or imagemagick, but that is a lot of work and I was hoping that MODx could simplify this in just a few steps.

    Thank in advance!

I added an image to clearify the above. What you see is a product (a building) with a large image and 4 thumbnails which will have some sort of lightbox function to enlarge them.. I want the client to be able to easily upload these 5 images from the manager without any complexity

        Can this help you? http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=59534.0

If you’re feeling adventurous you could make some custom TVs but the above is probably easier.

Thanks for your reply, that would fix the browser part yes, by assigning a single folder to the user.. But ideally I would like them to just get an upload-field and not worry about where it will be saved. The image also has to be cropped and resized into the right dimensions and a thumbnail has to be created
