Modx hangs when accessing page unpublished page while logged in

Hi all,

Suppose I have a page that is not published, and a child that is published, say:

en/home

where ’en’ is not published and ’home’ is published. When I try to access this page, modx hangs (it exceeds the execution time of 30 seconds) doing something in the dbapi. I was wondering, is this by design and is there a way around this? I’m ready to do some core modifications.

You might say that it doesn’t make sense to access pages with unpublished pages as parents, but unfortunately I have to. I need the onpagenotfound event when the ’en’ page is requested. See http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=18914.0 for details.

EDIT: I just figured out that the problem appears always with unpublished pages... I dont get 404s but timeouts when I go directly to an unpublished page
ANOTHER EDIT: The problem *only* appears when you are logged in to the Modx manager.

Interesting, I’ve just tried this in an 0.9.6.2 test install and I can get to children of unpublished parents OK, only accessing the unpublished parent page gives a 404. Which version are you using?

0.9.6.3, but I remember I had this problem before in 0961.. Weird! Could this be some setting somewhere?
