Suddenly i lost connection to my database Mysql whcih is showing the following error: ’Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ’/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock’ (2)’.
I am planning to reinstall mysql. Will that take away my Modx? Do i have to rebuild it again?? Can i reconfigure and get the existing website work? Please reply! thanks
I’d try and find the fault first before you re-install mysql, this will may well trash your existing DB if you do nothing to prevent it. Ilooks as though the server is down, that’s why you can’t connect to it. Depending on the fault you may be able to get it back fairly quickly. Have a look at your mysql logs. What platform are you on?
