Ok, it seems that I was completely wrong!! The OnStripAlias event never made it in 0.9.6.3. So this plug-in won’t work for you, I’m sorry!
In order to achieve what you want, you will have to hack the core files. Here’s a brief how-to,
use at your own risk
- Download the file /manager/processors/save_content.processor.php somewhere on your computer and make a back-up copy in case you messed up later
- Open it with your favorite text editor. Your text editor must support UTF-8 text encoding or it will screw up your file.
- Scroll down to around line 675 where you should see something that looks like this:

static $replace_array = array('&' => 'and','\'' => '','À' => 'A','À' => 'A','Á' => 'A','Á' => 'A','Â' => 'A',
- Now you will need to add an entry for every character that is disappearing from your alias, in your case, it would look like this after the change:
static $replace_array = array('ž' => 'z','š' => 's','&' => 'and','\'' => '','À' => 'A','À' => 'A','Á' => 'A','Á' => 'A','Â' => 'A',
- Save this and upload it to your website, replacing the old file (or rename the old one first to make a quick backup)
That’s it! Hopefully that will work for you.
