and that its behavior is to be populated on saved if no pub_date is set or be populated when the pub_date was reachedNot sure it is set to enter anything into the DB by default as my column ’publishedon’ is full of the default value ’0’ even though I rarely use the publish/unpublish TV’s

I think that if you install the demo site there will be some documents with 0 set for publishedon. This may be causing some confusion.
