Just getting started with MODx. So far, so good. I really like it. But I don’t want QuickEdit on my site.

First it was breaking jQuery, now it’s causing my pages to fail validation. Disabling from the module manager has no effect and deleting it crashes the entire installation. I even tried commenting out the HTML in output.class.inc.php.

The intention is good, but I don’t mind logging into the manager to make changes. How do I remove QuickEdit? huh

Disabling the module should work. There is also a plug-in that needs to be disabled as well. You may need to clear the cache after disabling the module.

I use jQuery with it’s built in conflict prevention (I can’t remember the name off the top of my head but it is just one tag in the beginning of the code). As for the validation, it should only fail while logged in as manager, otherwise there should be no changes to your code.

        That did the trick!

I didn’t clear the cache, nor did I disable the plugin before. Thanks for the tip!

Disabling the plugin will prevent Quickedit from injecting code into your template. The module just holds some configuration and displays the help file in the manager. Disabling the module will hide the button in the manager.
