    Can anyone point me to where I can remove the Manage META tags and Keywords link in the manager?
    I prefer to use a chunk / TV setup and would like to remove it completely.

    Thanks,
    Taff

    EDIT: manager/frames/menu.php don’t know how I missed it before.

    My only other problem in relation to this, is how to remove the META tags tab when I’m editting a document.
    Can’t seem to find anything leading to it at all.

    Hope someone can help!

    Taff

      This sounds like something you could accomplish with the ManagerManager plugin.

        I wonder how many people actually use the built in meta-management features. I for one have never done so once I don’t think ... too painful! lol

          You can edit /manager/actions/mutate_content.dynamic.php starting at line 793 and comment out that whole section up to line 895. That will get it out of the document editing page.

          To remove the link from the main menu, edit /manager/frames/menu.php and comment out lines 258-261.

            @netProphet Thanks for the idea with the ManagerManager, I’m going to use that to remove a couple of fields that my clients never ever ever fill out.

            @sottwell Thanks for the pointer Susan, I had spent a long time trying to find that. My line numbers are slightly different so for anyone else hunting this down:

            Around about 867 remove everything after
            <div class="tab-page" id="tabMeta">
            down to around about 912 which is where the table tag closes.
                         </td>
                          </tr>
                         </table>
                    </div>

            should not be commented out.

            Awesome stuff, thanks again Susan.

            I like the idea of using a keywords TV for page specific keywords and a chunk for adding site scoped ones. The default process is definately a little painful. It takes 30 minutes to show them that you can ctrl+click to select more than one, then they let go and click one more...and start from scratch.

            I’ll save this file, and use it from now on.

            Onto ManagerManager now to remove things like Link Attributes and content type

            Thanks all!
