Ever seen those webpages that allow for the user to pick certain articles of clothing, and it generates the clothing on a person?

One of the Tales games is one where you can pick your own character. So I thought, "Why not create something like that on my website?". laugh

Due to how the game works, I’ll have images for each combonation (I’ll update it periodically till all of them are in there). Is there a way in MODx to "grab" the select data (using a drop-down menu or a radio button), and "insert" that into the placeholder (let’s say weapon would be the placeholder for a Mighty Sword).

And let’s say Mighty Sword = ms (as far as the select data is concerned). So it would make a file name like ms.png (and just keep adding on for the diff. combonations). Now, can I have the text shown to the user as Mighty Sword, and the data inserted into the snippet ms, or do I need to have an array in the snippet code to "switch" it over? And how would I even gather the form data to begin with?

Lastly, in the game, certain combonations cannot work. So therefore, the file wouldn’t exist. How could have a "if filename doesn’t exist, show an error message"?

I made a small eform plugin that puts all info from the form into a session and a snippet that can be called on any page that creates placeholder values that can be used by placing a placeholder with the form inputfield name.

maybe you can use something like that?

That sounds like it might work, after taking a quick look at your code. I’ll take a more in-depth look at it later.
