snippets URL

Is it possible to write a snippet as an Ajax action? I mean is it possible to have the URL of a snippet and set this URL for the XMLHttpRequest?

Just create a MODx document with no template that returns the expected content (i.e. place snippet in main content area) and set the content-type appropriately.
