Change base url after site switch

Hello again!

I was hoping someone could tell me what I was missing here:
We ftp’d testing site to local, then ftp’d to main server, everything works fine except all the links point to old server. I found this post :http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,1649.0.html and changed modx_system_settings (only found 2 fields in entire db with reference to root directory). This did not fix issue, so I manually added $base_path = correct/base/path to config.inc.php with still no luck, so I undid changes to .inc.php. Both testing and production site are on same virtual private, we are currently accessing them via IP because we will not be pointing domain until all issues are worked out (i mention ip because I know mod_rewrite (out of box) does not work while accessing via IP so maybe this could be issue?) If it helps: apache/php5/mysql.

MODx auto-detects the path. Just sounds like you haven’t cleared your cache. First thing you should do after uploading a site to a new location is login to the manager and clear the cache.

Thank you for the response OpenGeek, super quick as always. And you were right. I thought that I had already cleared the cache in both MODx and Firefox.
