TinyMCE and problems embedding video

I’ve only found a handful of mentions on this matter and no solutions. Here’s the problem I’m having. I embed a quicktime video into page and it works fine. Until I go back to edit the page. TinyMCE than changes the quicktime code into shockwave flash code, which of course breaks the movie.

When I go back and view the page in edit mode the quicktime is not visible in the wysiwyg and looking at the HTML I see this code.

Pasting the proper code back in doesn’t work. TinyMCE is hellbent on making everything into Flash. I can’t find an answer to this anywhere.

It does it in MacOS/Firefox.v2.x and WindowsXPpro/IE.

Try disabling Cleanup in the plugin config...see if that stops it. Else, you could always insert your movie using the Media plugin, which lets you select what kind of media it is. Should do the trick!

I am using the media plugin and selecting "Quicktime" from the type pulldown.

I disabled "cleanup" in the plugin configuration and now it no longer replaces everything with Flash code, but it inserts flawed code from the get go. Here’s what is generated when "cleanup" is turn off.

Yup, I ran into this one too - not exactly sure what the reason is. I assumed that it was being caused by some code deep in TinyMCE - plugin or add-on being used for the insertion of those media types. All I can do to help, since quite honestly modifying the Tiny editor files frightens the cracker jacks outta me, is remind you to delete/clear everything out in the HTML view and click the insert button again when you need to edit or configure the video.

Another method you could use is to use a TV for inserting in videos and such. With a little scripting you can have it to where it inserts in the exact code you want.
