TV + snippet causes high php memory usage

Hi,

am trying to pinpoint a nasty problem. Have been struggling with slowness on my server and have found that pages having a TV that includes a snippet causes the php process memory usage to be large: >10MB for a simple request. Even when the snippet script only contains a ’return;’ .

As my ISPs process management keeps processes to consume <50MB/user, when some concurrent requests happen on the server, processes are ’trashed’ (reniced). This introduces a slowness on the whole website.

Now I am thinking the problem here is related to modx’s recursive parser somehow not processing snippets embedded in TVs very well?

Anyone seen anything like this?

Sounds like you are running 0.9.5 with the TemplateSwitcher and/or DisableCache plugins. Disable or remove those plugins completely from your site and I bet the problem goes away...

Good bet, it was the TemplateSwitcher acting up, site is very responsive again.

I am using the TemplateSwitcher.. should i not be? if this snippet has such problems why is it still in the repository?
