I agree with you completely Zap. Rthrash (over PM) has given similar advice. I have disabled Webalizer and ModLogAn. As it turns out, IXWebHosting has failed to apply security patches to their included services.
This is not the forum for me to rant about about my disappointment with IXWebhost, sufficed to say they have not been interested in learning about vulnerability to their servers. I will elaborate (over PM) for anyone that wishes to hear the details of my correspondence.

Hey if we all started venting about our various host problems we’d have to move the entire forum to the flame bait thread...
A few years ago a friend with an osCommerce site that I set up for him had his site hacked, and the hackers just replaced his site with a digital tag and left. So I restored his site and told him to change all the passwords. To my knowledge he STILL hasn’t, but luckily they haven’t come back to try again.
Nowadays whenever anything smells fishy to me I change all the passwords before I even investigate.
Maybe a securitypage in the wiki would be in order?
It´s not only in each persons interrest but also in ModX´s interrest,
so that ModX won´t be blamed for bad servers or bad users.
