I didn’t find a place to put feedback to 0.9.6.

The upgrade script is spoiling the utf-8 database. All utf-8 strings after upgrade to 0.9.6 are turned to something like

You’re going to need to explain that a lot more, because the changes in the upgrade script are there to solve existing problems with Windows deployments that require the character set connection to be set properly when UTF-8 encoding is being used on the database. Are you sure your database and tables are UTF-8 and that the new character set config variable in config.inc.php matches this encoding?

The matter of the fact is that in 0.9.5 there was simply no

string in the config.inc.php. Therefore my database is somewhat wrong, though the sites are working. The texts are shown wrong even in phpmyadmin.

After the upgrade if I go to the config and comment out the charset line, then the site beging to live again.

Of course I’d like to recode the whole database to the correct utf. Is it possible?

Aha. got it. The old database is in win-1252. Needs to be converted to utf.

sorry to bring this up.
I have to make a new company website and after playing with Modxcms for the last few weeks I decided to make it with ModX.
I would like to start with the new 0.9.6, so would like to ask when it come?
I have still some work on my Server (Upgrade to PHP5 and MySQL5..), getting to it next week and would like to start right away...


I also have to do a "big" project, and I’m going to do it with ModX but for this one I think its better to wait till 0.9.7 (do I have to install something else on the Server for xPDO, I mean I’m going to install PHP5, Soap, Pear, MySql5, mysql and mysqli connector, Apache2).
Is there some kind of a "roadmap" for 0.9.7

Until now I used Joomla but It’s just not enough, and I think ModX is just the way to do it. IT ROCKS.

We should have the next RC out this week. Then we’ll need to wait a bit for the translators to get all their files in place. At that point we should be good to go. I suspect there will be a few more bug fixes or tweaks to the final release between RC and final.

You’ll find an early preview of 097 shortly after the official 096 release.
