      A possible solution is adding this to your [q]#content img[/q] css declaration:
      max-width: 100%;

          view the page with Opera 11 (my current choice) and bring up the developer tools "option-command-I" on my Mac
          click on the offending picture - it will display the html and css (including the file and line number) Then go change it.

          You can do the same with Firefox and firebug - I rarely use this, and short cut did not reliably work for me.

          In safari and Chrome you can also find this information but it much more tedious navigating through the html to find one little thing especially for a complicated page.

            I just go to a local folder that contains all of the css files and do a search in that folder for that string using Finder. That has saved me a lot of grief a number of times, as the same element had ended up being styled in multiple css files!

            If you don’t have any files from the site on your local machine, you should be seriously reconsidering your backup policies! I keep current backups of every site I’m currently supporting on my machine, on a USB stick, burned to CD and on an external hard drive. One way or another I’ll be able to access a site’s files, or restore it in case of a catastrophic failure.

            Reminds me of something I read about the 9/11 disaster. A small business was evacuating, and one of the employees, the fiancee of the owner I believe, grabbed the backup tapes on her way out. The next day they were back in business in nearby rental facilities. Her fiancee remarked that she was definitely a keeper.

              I always just click on the firebug icon in the bottom right of the screen... works great!

                  That does work - what I was referring to is in the menu: Tools-Firebug-Inspect Element ... click on this and then hover/click on your page and it will ’take you to’ the code for that element. It can be very helpful. Anyway it purports to have a shortcut (I find three levels deep in a menu OK for occasional use but a pain to use continually) but the shortcut has never worked for me YMMV.

                    Right click the element you want and pick "Inspect Element"? Does exactly what you want.. I can see why the inspect element from the tools menu is tough to use though - never even knew that existed. tongue

                      Thanks Mark - that works with Safari and Chrome as well.
