I have already set up a password protected page on my site.

    I have followed these instructions

    http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Making+Member-Only+Pages#MakingMember-OnlyPages-Stepbystepexplanation
    Here is my resource breakdown

    Page
    -sub page 1
    -sub page 2
    -sub page 3
    -sub sub page 1
    -sub sub page 2
    -sub sub page 3
    -sub page 4
    Page 2
    Page 3

When I add Page 1, Page 2 & Page 3 to the Resource Group it only password protects those 3 pages but the sub pages and the sub sub pages are all accessible. Seems like it does not apply the password protection to the sub pages...why is this and how can I set it up that all child resources of a password protected resource are also automatically password protected?

thank you so much for your assistance.

Just a thought but pages often inherit things from their parents, but only if they are created after the parent has been set.

So if you create the pages then add the parent to the group the sub pages may not inherit. but if you create the parent add it to the group and then create the sub pages they may then be added automatically i’m not sure if this is the case but worth a try.

Other than that then a plugin would work. one that is fired on save, and checks the group of the parent and sets the group of the page to match.

        i tried that

I set Page 1 as password protected and it works fine

after that I created a new document (Sub Test Page) and set the parent to be Page.

I am still able to pull Sub Test Page without being logged in

        >:(its really frustrating. I remember doing this in EVO and it worked fine.
