Library classes and Templating Library

Whats greencore?
could modx use,change delete... data from a sql database.
and visual studio, asp.
could be linux windows worlds merged in the web?

GreenCore is an internal working name for an upcoming rev of the parsing and back end engine that makes MODx tick. I’ll leave it to Raymond to describe more when the time is right.

Well I kinda take a different approach to such. If you see a need for something then I think you can go ahead and code it. Whether or not it will make it’s way into the core others will find use for it. If the core contains something that dulpicates you work then you can always update your code to use the newer APIs.

Remember that some of the things planned for GreenCore might not make it into the core.

I’ll see what I will do with this. I just hope that my idea might be useful for your Green Core. It’s related more into the TV parsing, which will eliminate the need of widget, as well as combining the ability of placeholder, chunk, and snippet to substitute the use of complex templating logic, such as conditional statement and looping statement.

But from what I understand, by having the recursive snippet, chunk, placeholder, tv and etc parser, I think it will give use the same flexibility as well to the system parsing.

That’s pretty cool. Handling data lists with a template in that fashion are something that I’ve wanted to see in Modx. I agree the extension idea is the way to go in general, but meanwhile have you looked yet into creating a modified version of this class that would work with Modx?
