    Hello,

I would like to build an online business directory. In future it can have up to 10 000 entries.
I will use 5 main folders for districts, and than use tagging for storing keywords categories.
Do You think that MODx Revo is a good choice for this?
Right now I’m bit concerned about speed of loading resources tree in backend.

Would be thankful for any feedback on this topic?

I think Revo would do fine for this: you could create WebLinks that pointed to all the sites you wanted to reference. Although the backend is a bit heavy, the front-end of Revo is highly optimized and performs very well under load.

I’m just wondering how you are going to maintain the 10.000 entries in your menu tree... I don’t want to scroll through a list of 2000 businesses when I need to make a small change to just *that* listing. But hey - if you still know you want to do that in a year or two when it’s too time-consuming to change it, go ahead! smiley

I would either split it up further (perhaps even straight down to the neighbourhood) or make a custom table which you can manipulate to display certain results in any way (eg filter on name or tag) on a custom developed CMP to manage it. You can then use a plugin to send the request to the right resource with the right snippet to fetch the data.
