FileDownload snippet with TVs?

Regarding the FileDownload snippet, I was wondering how I would go about creating a TV based on FileDownload so that my client could specify a file URL in each document that uses a FileDownload snippet call in its template. Is this possible? My client will be regularly generating new pages that will each have download links, and i don’t want the client to be constantly editing chunks for each of these pages. Hope this makes sense. By the way, I don’t need the files to be secure so I’d appreciate an answer that didn’t require that I use the FileDownload plugin. Thanks.

something i do not understand in your request is that if you client need to be able to generate a list of files to download, the easiest way i can think about is to use a TV with a rich text as its input widget... (i often do that for clients who need to have a list of pdf files to download in a page)

when it comes to one file to download, TVs also have a file input widget

something else, width TVs you can do nearly everything you want writing you own custom ones, it’s something you won’t be able to do without as soon as you have played with...
