How can create a link to an image

Dear All,

I am a bit suprise that can not do it.

1) I add an image on a page (small image) Then I selected the image and I click on the link icone to create a link.
After a windows is opened and I can only chose a file AND NOT an image from /assets/images.

Why,

Also I would like to know how can I add rel= to my link

example:

<a rel="test" href="assets/images/mybigimage.jpg" title="my image"><img src="assets/images/mysamllimage.jpg" /></a>

Above I added rel="test".

Do you have an idea how can I add it

I already saw directsize and I was very interessted on it. But I could not find how to use it.
I followed the instruct from the lin k you gave me but then how can I make it working in order to have a small image and when we click on it it zooms with a background as does lightbox?
