    Hi
I am new to modx and have only just seen the "Add your Newbie FAQs here, please.." section.
I guess i’m going to have various questions until I learn modx in more depth.
My first call is always to google my questions and see if the answers are in the tutorials, documentation etc before posting to the forum but when I do have a question as a Newbie should I post in Re: Add your Newbie FAQs here, please... or in the general comments?
    Thanks
    Steve

That section is supposed to be for the community to add questions they commonly get and their answers to these questions. For help, the best thing to do is to look over the main forum sections and try to pick the most relevant one for your particular question. For example if you have a question regarding Wayfinder, then you would want to post in Wayfinder child board http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/board,182.0.html

The best way to search the forum is this Google query:

      site:modxcms.com/forums/ keyword1 "key phrase1"

An additional bit of advice: make your Subject line meaningful; "Help" doesn’t give anybody much of an idea what your problem is.

Some people who are just starting out and have a lot of questions will put the info specified in the red block of text under the posting input form into their signature; that way you don’t have to keep typing what your installation configuration information is; particularly important to almost any question is which version of MODx you’re using, Evo or Revo!
