Some of our customer have a difficult time working with the TinyMCE editor. Sometimes they enter texts, heading and particularly pictures which they cannot get aligned the way it should be. For example: If you position the cursor at the end of a heading, the cursor can be inside the heading or outside the heading. In the case of adding an image this can be of influence on the alignment of elements.
In the past I have worked with Typo3 (a German OpenSource CMS) and there you can define some sort of screen-element. The developer does the designing and the content-editor only fills in some input-type fields. The CMS takes care of creating the HTML (based on templates created by the developer).
It would be nice to have the opportunity to replace the TinyMCE editor with such an editor. I have ideas how this new editor should look like, but maybe this idea is already created somewhere?
Does anybody have the same problems with TinyMCE as I am experiencing (or at least my customers do) and does anybody know of alternatives which do not use the HTML/javascript-editor all these editors are using?

They can be Documents or custom-tablerows.
All contents sortable/editable directly inline or in our Control-Center, where you can edit all (also not visible) fields of these documents/tablerows, which is very flexible configurable.
sortables can go in different fields (menuindex, myownsortfield......) or as a commasepareted list in a TV, if you want to have a selection of referenced bloX, (all is configurable)....................

Although I like the idea and certainly bookmark it to investigate later, it is not what I meant.
I am really looking for another editor than TinyMCE and all the other editors using HTML/Javascript editing on the screen while creating the HTML under water. We have found that the creation of the HTML based on some graphical editor gives you sometimes the wrong HTML.
Another solution might be to use extra plugins on top of TinyMCE. I’ll move myself to the TinyMCE unless anybody else here has a nice MODX solution.

After searching the net I saw WYMeditor. Also mentioned in another topic on this forum. This is more in the line what I was thinking of. If they added template support in XML-format then it would be perfect.
