Adding JW Player Button to TinyMCE

Okay so I looked through the forums to see if anyone else had asked about it and didn’t find anything for TinyMCE. I did find http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,26929.msg163720.html#msg163720 But this is for FCK editor. I am looking to add JW Player to TinyMCE as a button.

TinyMCE button:

Popup window: Select your video path: (Browse button)
(Add Button)
When you click add the path you browsed for with the file manager should drop into the =]] spot and the window close.


If anyone has a clue as to where I would start of if someone has done the coding already please give me the heads up it would be much appreciated.

Does no one have a solution for this? I would try but I don’t really know where to begin, I haven’t delved much into the workings of ModX.

Anyone? Or even if there is any easy way to add video built in. I have not been able to find it. Every time I used the TMCE editor to add video it doesn’t work.

This would be wonderful. The Media button in TinyMCE uses outdated code. The ability to add a path to a snippet call is of course easy once, with a template variable but to place multiple videos throughout a page, by a content editor rather than a developer, would be great. Instructing them on how to use a Snippet is an option but it is not the most user friendly option (not to mention they have to FTP the video files up to the server or use the File Manager separately.

I wonder if the existing media plugin could be easily editted to add that as an option? It looks like it can handle Windows Media player, Quicktime, and Flash "out of the box."
