I have just cpmpleted the code to use a check box to indicate whether the send an email.
I set the default value for the check box to ’unchecked’.
This produces the result I was looking for in my second approach.
The check box is always ’unchecked’ when the document is opened for edit.
Hence, the user has to make a definitive decision to send the email.
I presume thet the checked/unchecked state is not saved to the database because they are not ’values’ as for, say, the text box.
