Programmatically duplicate content ?

Hi everyone,

Can someone tell me if it is possible in MODx to duplicate a document within a plugin ?
What I’m trying to do is having a double structure with automatic mirroring of newly created documents. When the OnDocFormSave is triggered.

But, I also ended up going with Ditto in the end.

Depends if you want to really just mirror a document, or really create a duplicate.

For mirroring (re-using) the same document, getField or Ditto is the answer.

Duplicating automatically... is a bit different. There are (afaik) two sets of API wrapper class libraries out there, which are extremely handy if you’re porting a legacy site to MODx. I am not sure however, if they will also run in a plugin. Perhaps if you explained the big picture, we could give more specific advice.

The goal here is to get a real duplicate of the document in order to edit it afterwards.
