Module which does a header redirect does not work in IE but fine in Firefox.

I’m working on a new module which simply does

header( ’Location: http://stats.domainname.com/Login.aspx?shortcutLink=autologin&txtSiteID=mysite.com&txtUser=username&txtPass=blabla’ ) ;

I’ve also created a tab in the welcome.html which has a link to the module and it all works very well in Firefox, so well that our users think the stats are part of MODx.

However I am finding when running the module in Internet Explorer I just get presented with the stats login screen and it does not auto log in, it’s as if the module is not storing session data / or cookies for the stats site.

If I copy the URL http://stats.domainname.com/Login.aspx?shortcutLink=autologin&txtSiteID=mysite.com&txtUser=username&txtPass=blabla and run that direct in the IE Address bar the stats site auto logs in, I can then run the module in MODx and it also auto logs in.

So to me it seems like a cookie / sessions saving issue but I cannot think at the moment how to get around it.

If any one has any ideas or suggestions it would be much appreciated.

I managed to fix this in the end, it seems that either MODx or the stats site was not able to save its cookies / sessions when being accessed from another domain so I created a sub domain on the MODx site enstats.domainname.com which pointed to the stats server and now the MODx module can now auto log into the stats site

Previously I was trying to autologin into http://stats.onesmarthost.co.uk but from within the MODx site http://www.domainname.com so it must have been a third party cookie issue.

I’m confused but at least its working now and looks very neat.
