Creating a snippet for forms and file uploads

With HTML I have a form and processor, and I need some guidance on where to go for making it a modx addon?

• First I am not sure if it should be a snippet, or module or plugin
• Second I would like to set in the parameters things such as username and password, and file upload location, page to refresh to, etc
• Third it currently uses on SMTP, but for me that is fine.
• lastly it would be really cool if we could use TV’s to control the fields, but in honestly I am just happy to add in by hand the form items

So could someone help me make it modx friendly.

Basically this is my all in one form processor. I use it for contact pages, quotes pages, and even for file uploads. I have thought for years to add some JS to show that you are uploading the file, but never have.

It should be a snippet. See the eForm or SPForm snippets for examples of how it might look. In fact, it sounds like eForm pretty much does everything, with the addition of tpl chunks for customizing all forms and responses, plus an event model allowing for easy extension.

Eform does a lot of things that my form doesn’t do, but my form does a few things it doesn’t do either, such as file uploads and true SMTP.
So a few important difference.
