    Hi;

    Just trying to configure Quip here & have a couple of questions...

    1. Can I specify a default gravatar somehow? i.e. I want my clients logo to appear whenever a user shows up without a gravatar avatar & not the email hash avatar...

    2. how in the heck do I open/close threads for commenting??? I see the auto closing settings in the templates/snippets/chunks etc. But can this be done from admin???

    -thanks
    -sean

        For the second question, this one way to do it:

        * create a TV (as you did with tags if you are following this tutorial: http://rtfm.modx.com//display/revolution20/Creating+a+Blog+in+MODx+Revolution)
        * Lets call this TV "status"
        * Give it default value 0

        * Modify your BlogPost template to be like this:
        [[!QuipReply?
                 &thread=`blogPost[[*id]]`
                 ...
                 &closed=`[[*status]]`
        ]]

        When ever you want to close a thread, login to the Manager, and edit the thread document: change the status TV value to 1, save and you are done..

          thanks for the info - I got everything in there exactly. but it does not work... could I be mising something?

          - the TV was added and appears for the blog post articles in admin
          - the blog post template was modified and now reads:
          <!-- show reply to post -->
          [[!QuipReply?
          &thread=`blogPost[[*id]]`
          &recaptcha=`0`
          &closed=`[[*status]]`

          ]]

          The only deviation I made was the TV type is a select box with values of "Enabled==1||Disabled==0" - but it did not work as a text box either.

          hmmmm?

            At least from Syntax point of view it is correct.. I see no error.
            I used "text" as type, but you said you have tried text also..

            FWIW, here is my blogpost template:
            [[$header]]
            <div class="post">
              <h2>[[*longtitle]]</h2>
            [[*tags:notempty=`<div class="ditto_tags">Tags: [[!tolinks? &items=`[[*tags]]` &key=`tag` &target=`2`]]</div><br /><br />`]]

              [[*introtext:notempty=`<p>[[*introtext]]</p><hr />`]]

              [[*content]]

              <hr />
            [[!Quip?
                &thread=`blogPost[[*id]]`
                &threaded=`0`
            ]]
            <br /><br />
            [[!QuipReply?
               &thread=`blogPost[[*id]]`
               &recaptcha=`0`
               &closed=`[[*status]]`
            ]]
            </div>
            [[$footer]]

                strange; I can’t get the commenting to show up even if I;

                [[!QuipReply?
                   &thread=`blogPost[[*id]]` &recaptcha=`0` &closed=`1` &closeAfter=`90`
                ]]

                  yea- I’m beginning to see that the docs say "If set to 0, the thread will not accept new comments." but I have the status TV just output to the page and it shows "1" with commenting disabled, I toggle it back to "0" and I can comment again....

                  so the documentation is off then?? [it’s working now, just not as documented]
                  [I’m using revo too]

                  -thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
