Lightbox JS combined with phpThumb not working

I have gone through the directions and setup the phpThumb and lightbox combination that you can find here http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,3163.0.html. however, i can’t get the thumbnail to show. I can only get a text link (when clicked it does bring up the lightbox with the correct image) or a gray box with an error message saying

’phpThumb() v1.7.9-200805132119

"/home/content/s/t/u/stubbsbr/html/LittleRedShed/www/assets/snippets/phpThumb/assets/images/books/books.jpg" does not exist’

so i believe that this means that i need to change the DocumentRoot configuration in the phpThumb.config.php, but everything i have tried so far hasn’t helped. has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you solve it.

I have had better luck using the DirectResize package.
