Modify document output after caching?

Yes. You are right. I only discovered the ’_’ being replaced by ’%...’ within the MODx backend some time after I tried ManagerManager. I should go back and try again using the % code. I’ll let you know if I get it to work. Thanks.

Yes. Excellent! That works a treat!! Just replace _ by %5F in the mm_rules. For example:

Update: I now have what I consider to be a fully functional and very powerful multilingual MODx solution that doesn’t require maintenance of multiple document trees!!

Next step before releasing it as a beta to the community for further testing is to write a load of documentation, which I hope to find time to do next weekend.

I was going to attach some screenshots of the interface, but it looks like the attachment facility is not working at the moment.

Okay. Here are the screenshots. The first three are of the Yams module.

This of the language set-up tab, where you can configure your active language groups.

This is the template tab. Here you can decide which templates will be multilingual and which will be monolingual.

This is the ’other params’ tab. Here you can configure how Yams will redirect from your existing pages to the new multilingual ones.


This final screenshot is an example of what a document might look like if you are using the Yams ManagerManager rules:

I haven’t configured the content textareas to use an RTE here, but I’m sure it can be done fairly easily.

By the way, you’ve probably discovered this already but I found out that the when using alias domains (www.mydomain.com, www.mydomain.fr etc) this global will only return the primary domain NOT the alias: $_SERVER[’SERVER_NAME’].

The global you want to use in this instance is actually $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"], and this works for both subdomains and aliases.
