Use mod_rewrite On own database

For those who want to help.

I would like to be able to make a modx page and send $_GET vars within the url on a mod_rewrite style.

So for example:

www.example.com/nl/test/ is the "base" page set as a directory in ModX. This is a modx page with friendly urls on and it will resolve www.example.com/nl/test.html, www.example.com/nl/test and www.example.com/nl/test/.

On this page I will create a link to:

www.example.com/nl/test/1223/blablabla.html

This page will need to resolve www.example.com/nl/test.html?id=1233&type=blablabla.html

I don’t mind to fix the base page so it can’t be changed/deleted


I tried to add a line in the .htaccess file before the general RewriteRule but this didn’t help me much. Can someone please help me solve this puzzle.

I figured out something like this using url segments to identify database keys (keys in an external database):

but I got the impression that my "solution" would cause more problems (and possibly give Jason a headache).
