The website operates with two separate databases.
One database contains all MODX information. The second database was left after the previous version of the website. It contains companies’ stocks values, which are being published every day with a separate administrative tool.
The goal is to make a single RSS feed, that will include both newsfeeds from the website and AND those frequently updated stock values.
Now i’ve already made an RSS feed with Ditto, which contains all newsfeeds required. I also understand how to make a snippet which would connect to the second database, scan for stock values and return every value in XML format to form an RSS feed.
The result would be two separate dynamically generated RSS feeds. The question is, how do i combine them?
Ditto generates it’s items from articles in MODX document tree. Is there a way to inject RSS items from the snippet generated RSS to Ditto, while it’s forming the feed? Or am i going about this entirely wrong?
