I have had modx up and running on one of my servers for over a year, both evolution and revolution. It is running on a cpanel shared box, with centos 5.5.

I just purchased a dedicated server with the same company, and when I uploaded the modx package I got nothing. It won’t even display a page, just a 500 error. I terminated the account tried fresh, and nothing. I loaded wordpress, and it worked.

I tried transferring the site, nothing. It doesn’t even try to run a page. I renamed the .htaccess file, recompiled php, apache, mysql...

    I’m going nuts!

Is there any utility or anything that can prove that server is missing something, or a setting is off?

    Help!

Just as a note for future reference 500 errors are typically permission based, or htaccess related. Glad you were able to figure it out!
