Pass a parameter from Query String on to Snippet?

How do you access parameters that were passed via Query String? Example:

# Snippet [[mysnip]]
return "$param1";

# Document id=42
[[mysnip? &param1=`$$$WHAT GOES HERE$$$`]]


So you call document #42 like this:

http://modxsite.com/index.php?id=42&param1=SOMETEXT


How does the snippet get access to "SOMETEXT?"


I’ve read all the MODx docs I can get my hands on, and can’t find the answer to this basic question. Am I missing something really simple?

What is the output of the following line in your snippet


echo $_GET[’param1’];

In your snippet before using the value $param1 have something like :

Ok, so you just short-circuit MODx’s calling of the Snippet and the HTTP Request stuff is still visible to PHP, right? This makes sense.
Is the "PATH_INFO" setting preserved also?

The example I gave just extracts the value (SOMETEXT) of &param1 from the url.
