TemplateManager Plugin - Proof of concept

Whatever is the most efficient and easiest to enter.
How about a simple comments tag and one rule per line. That way you’d need one simple regex and split the lines with the advantage that if someone is silly enough to disable the plugin it would not show up in the front-end.

I already did that. I really love the way it works so far. I can post the evolution of the plugin in the first post if you are interested. The html comments are a good idea.
But I will not force it. Till now you can put the TemplateManager code wherever you want in the template.

In fact you could just hook into ManagerManager and evilly eval() the whole thing.

I want to do this version to work with modx’s mootools version. ManagerManager uses Jquery and some default plugins that come with 0963 do not work.
I won’t try to do everything that ManagerManager does. For example adding a new tab is beyond the purpose of this plugin.

Wouldnt it be nice if templates had parameters similar to snippets, plugins, modules?

I guess this is like that but without hacking the core.
I wonder if is easy to add fields where you define the template.

Anyway I would do this as a second step.

In the first post I will keep you updated with the code of this plugin.
Have a look from time to time and let me know how would you improve it.

This a TemplateManager. Maybe ManagerManger can do that.
Not sure the doc tree is something that relates to the template.

can you say why you need that functionality?

It is to hide the doc tree from some clients...
I am reconfiguring the welcome page of the manager to have just some
links so they can add docs using TVs, so no need for them to see (and play with) the tree...

After a quick look you could try to do your own plugin

Not sure but you can start using the OnBeforeManagerPageInit event

and try to access the top.mainMenu.hideTreeFrame(); js function.
Something like that anyway.
