I moved Symphonic Heaven (now Tales Union) into a smaller part of a larger gaming site. We were planning on running a custom script that had the two databases link up, but due to unforeseen issues that’s a no-go.
Does MODx have a trigger that can be called when a page is saved to the database, where I could have fields like longtitle, alias, etc. be saved to a file (like a plain text file), where the other site could grab that and import it into their database?
It seems pretty simple in theory (all MODx is doing is grabbing specific fields and outputting them to a file), but I wanted to make sure it’s feasible before I spent time on this idea (if you knew what events call that trigger, or what MODx commands can "grab" the data, that would be great).
A plugin set to listen to the OnBeforeDocFormSave event should do what you want.
