I’m currently developing a personal website and I want to give my visitors the opportunity to upload an image when they write a message in my guestbook. I’m really new to MODx and I’m still a bit confused about the differences between snippets, plugins, modules and well.. everything ;-)
I already successfully created a blog (using NewsPublisher and Ditto) and a guestbook (using Jot) so I know the basics about snippets, chunks, templates and TV’s.
Anyway, I couldn’t find a way to create a guestbook with the option to include an image and don’t know if it already exists. I tried to Google it but I’m terribly lost in the world of snippets, plugins and modules so I don’t know where to look for.
I think I need a push in the right direction... I’m not sure if I posted this thread in the right (sub)forum, so I guess I should already apologize for that...

I am far from an expert on this, but I’ll take a shot in the dark.
Try combining the Jot snippet with another snippet like FancyUpload or FileUpload. The you probably need to create an extra column in you modx_jot_contents table called something like image_path.
You then would have to modify the snippet to write the path of the uploaded image to image_path.
Bear in mind that I am relative newbie and there will probably be a much easier solution out there.
