    Hello All -

I’m working on a web site that showcases a limited number of artists work. Right now there are only about 12 artists. My client would like each artist to be able to login and edit his or her page, edit text add images, ect.

I’m able to create a new user that has administrative permissions, but can’t figure out how to create a user with limited access to edit a single page. Any suggestions?

I’m using ModX Revolution. The site is www.sanctuaryrenovation.com

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks

Thanks, I’ve been able to create a new user who can access anything in ModX (a super administer) but I can’t seem to limit it to just a single resource a single user can edit.

zi, I don’t think that tutorial actually works, because it doesn’t protect the other resources in any way.

The easiest thing is to create a tree_root_id user setting set to the ID of the user’s page. (Edit a user and add the setting on the Settings tab). It’s not truly secure, but it will hide all other resources from that user in the Resource tree.

The truly secure method is to create a resource group and put all the resources on the site in it. Then connect that resource group to the Administrator user group with a Resource Group Access ACL entry. That protects all the resources. Next, you need to give the users rights to their own resources to override that protection.

Put each user in a user group that has only one user and that user’s resource in a resource group that has only one resource. Connect each user to his or her resource group with the same method you used above.

Thank You! grin It worked like a charm. They Easy way, that is. Next time I’ll try the more secure method.
