Will MODx work for a content site with around 40-50 pages?

I’m looking for a simple CMS to convert my content sites into. They are niche content sites, one about a certain type of tropical fish and a type of plant. They will soon grow to be around 40-50 pages of content and maybe grow to have more. I’m looking for a simple CMS that’s high in web standards and is very customizable layout-wise. I come from a Textpattern background for a deal blog and it’s pretty nice because of the simplicity. I tried to stay away from Mambo and Drupal-type CMS’s because they are a little complex. Would MODx work for my site type?
