    Hi guys,

I got a strange problem today, it’s the first time I see it. I have installed xampp on my Ubuntu machine, now I want to install it (everything is correct in this screenshot) but I can’t.

What is the error, I mean the database and everything is correct.

Ubuntu 10.04 => comes with a LAMP aready installed.

xampp runs on windows not sure about ubuntu.

xampp runs mysql with no password on root.

I think you need to provide more details.

I tried everything and it does not work, I can’t get further in the installation as the database window, modx doesn’t accept my login data. Nothing works.

Edit: Now I know it’s modx because I tried an installation with Wordpress and there it work everything how it should be. Installation completed with Wordpress.

Edit 2: Ok this is really weird, I tried to install Evolution 1.0.4 and it works too so there has to be something wrong with Revolution

Do you actually use a mysql password? If not, it’s that.
Do you use mysql on another port?

              Yes I use a password.

Hmm the weird thing is that I can install modx Evo and Wordpress but not modx Revo.

OK I did have exactly the same problem but managed to get round it by setting the database server to 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost. At least it has installed not tested the install yet tongue
