    I’m working on a quote for a new site and the site will need a ad server. I looked but do not see one for MODx so I thinking about adding OpenX to MODX as a module but have no idea where to start. Here is the link to the ad server software http://www.openx.org/ . If someone can point me to a place to start that would be great.

    thanks,

      I would take a look at the tutorial for adding an external table editor as a module. This is the process that I would try to get working. The option would be to run them independently (MODx and OpenX) and just use a snippet to include the add in the document. But to run it as a module would rock.

      Let us know what you figure out, this could be a nice addition for MODx.

        Thanks, I’ll have a look. What do I need to do if I want to fund this, all or in part, and give it back as a module. I just don’t want to take it on as a module to support and continue to maintain. I agree that this would be a nice addition to MODx. Think there’s a better ad server? I been researching ad servers and this seems to be the best. If we think about making this as a module for MODx I would certainly welcome others input.

          I did look at the tutorial and tried installing the external editor. I also followed the tutorial and tried to add openx. For both I get the following message.

          Warning: include_once(modx/manager/openx/index.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Library/WebServer/Documents/modx/manager/processors/execute_module.processor.php(98) : eval()’d code on line 1

          Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ’modx/manager/openx/index.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’/Library/WebServer/Documents/modx/manager/includes/’) in /Library/WebServer/Documents/modx/manager/processors/execute_module.processor.php(98) : eval()’d code on line 1

          I’m sure it something simple. The modx address is http://localhost/modx/.

            I am guessing that the issue wold be with your setting for this step:
            include_once(’path/to/your/modxinstall/manager/phpMyEdit/filename.php’);

            Maybe try changing this to:
            include_once $modx->config[’base_path’] . "manager/phpMyEdit/filename.php";
            THe $modx->config[’base_path’] function should return the correct path that is needed for the include.

              That did it, Thanks. Next question? How do I get rid of the login? I’m linking to OpenX, index.php. I would like to bypass the login.

              Did you read my other comment about making this a proper module?

              thanks,
