    I really like phpicalendar:
    http://phpicalendar.net/

I actually bought and installed 2 other php-based calendars. I’m not sure how to go about integrating this calendar into a certain MODx site I’m in the last stages of putting together. But it sure would be sweet since my client can simply export his iCal and upload it.

Has anyone tried integrating this calendar?

I will not use Google calendar because the client doesn’t like google.

It looks very interesting but it appears to have no way to add or edit events.

If I’m reading the docs correctly, you have to upload a whole calendar which it just displays.

That’s correct. You upload your.ics file and it displays. I simply want to integrate the output/display part right into the MODx without doing a work around.

That’s to say that my client has no need to use it to administer events without MODx like one would expect with say BOSCal or Thyme, but does all that event creation on their computer using iCal and then FTPs it. I just want to call the output into the MODx content panel.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like FTPing an entire calendar every time you add an event would not be the way to go, especially if you want your calendar to show past events and it’s a few years old. wink

I know you asked about integrating that specific calendar, if you set on this idea maybe try wit an iFrame.
but maybe you could find something here more modxy for your client:
            http://modxcms.com/resource-listing.html?tags=calendar

Personally I tried DittoCal and liked it. with some ’publish date’ tweaks I think you can reverse it for your needs.

              BobRay-
I agree, but it’s not my choice, it’s the cliens choice. It has to work for them and uploading the ICS file works very well for them. They can just edit on their computer and then export the ics file, upload it and they’re done. No need to login to some control panel. That’s way above their capabilities.

SinBad: the link didn’t point out anything specific. What would I enclose in the iframe? The main index.php file of the calendar app?

Meristem the link was for either CALx or DiitoCal
but it seems like you looking for this specific calendar. I’m not familiar with phpicalendar, and it seems a bit more than what I thought it is, so I might talk nonsense here,
                but see if this helps.
