Cataloging solutions

Hi Guys,

I am fairly new to MODx and have found it very intuitive so far. Now I have come to the point where I need a catalog(ish) solution. Basically what I need is the ability to enter in a bunch of menu(food) items into a database table and be able to pull them down based on category or id. I have done some searching around and it seems like there could be some potential solutions out there, but I don’t know where to start. Does anyone know of any modules/snippets like this that exist or something similar that I could modify a bit to do what I need?

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
