I’m about to start building a booking system which basically allows admin users to set up sessions (e.g. for a series of workshops) which will be displayed to users on the front end of a website perhaps in a time table format. Users will then log in to the site and be able to book a session. Admin users will be able to book people into sessions (e.g. if they aren’t members and call to be booked in).
My initial thoughts are to build a Module that will handle the management of sessions, bookings and users. It will also be able to report on who booked but didn’t attend etc...
My questions are these, is a module the right way to go? I’m not sure the using just modx documents will do this so there will need to be some extra db tables which implies a module.
Any thoughts or examples of similar ideas will be welcome.
